We are seeking a diligent and skilled AV Service Engineer to join our team. This role is critical to maintaining the performance and reliability of AV systems for our clients and ensuring their continued seamless operation.

Job Description:

The AV Service Engineer will play a key role in commissioning and maintaining AV systems, with a focus on configuring complex AV systems, preventing downtime and ensuring systems meet client needs. This position encompasses tasks such as system configuration, preventative maintenance, equipment checks, and backup procedures. Additionally, the engineer helps in identifying and resolving issues, provides feedback on system status, and offers recommendations for optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure that AV systems meet client needs and experience minimal downtime.
  • Where required, assist with the configuration of complex AV systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive system checks and document findings.
  • Follow manufacturer maintenance guidelines, including air flow filter replacement and equipment usage hour tracking.
  • Collect system configuration files and program codes as a precautionary measure.
  • Proactively identify and prevent potential system failures.
  • Rectify known issues and provide feedback on system status.
  • Make recommendations for system operation, future usage, and reliability.
  • Execute daily/weekly/monthly room checks based on room criticality and hardware issues.
  • Provide reactive support for client sites.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for each job attended.
  • Communicate identified faults clearly and in detail to helpdesk colleagues.
  • Explain faults to clients in a manner they can understand and convey the steps to resolve the issue within agreed SLAs.
  • Conduct high-level fault finding on audio-visual and video conferencing systems, even under pressure.
  • Possess a good understanding of computer software and hardware systems.
  • Utilize networking knowledge to troubleshoot audio and video conference networks, including Dante audio and Multicast video streams.
  • Understand digital and analog audio and video signals (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, Component, Composite).
  • Work with emerging technologies, such as LED display solutions and video wall processors.

Events Support:

In addition to the responsibilities above, the successful candidate will provide event support for our clients, which includes tasks such as:

  • Running AV events, including pre-event testing of audio, wireless microphone battery levels, etc.
  • Serving as the primary contact for event coordination.
  • Liaising with clients for large events to understand their requirements.
  • Attending pre-production meetings for scheduled special events.
  • Being the primary support for global production events.
  • Owning the event experience for meeting hosts and attendees.
  • Assisting in the management of high-profile events and providing expert advice.
  • Escalating operational issues to the appropriate support level and suggesting improvements.
  • Producing event reports that highlight space utilization.

Video/Audio Conferencing:

  • Setting up and supporting video/audio conferences, ensuring timely connectivity and good audio/video transmission.
  • Certifying all new and relocated video conference systems on-site.
  • Conducting video conference software updates.
  • Assisting with support for video/audio conferencing problems, investigating faults, and recommending corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in AV system maintenance and support.
  • Experience with Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, Biamp, Shure configuration.
  • Experience configuring DSP’s from Biamp, QSC, Extron
  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially under time constraints.
  • Knowledge of computer software and hardware systems.
  • Networking knowledge for audio and video conferencing networks.
  • Understanding of digital and analog audio and video signals.
  • Familiarity with emerging AV technologies.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
